Top Gear tests CPUK 205 GTI

As part of our relationship with Peugeot Motor Company we are contacted from time to time by the media to source cars to use in magazine photo shoots or test drives. Recently we were contacted by Top Gear magazine to supply a 205 GTI for Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond to drive for a forthcoming article about his favourite 1980`s “hot hatch” that he will be writing for the magazine. So we contacted CPUK member Adrian Butt who writes:

On 4th Jan I met up with Piers Ward of Top Gear Magazine at Dunsfold aerodrome (where Top Gear is filmed) and subsequently met Richard Hammond. He took my car out on the track and gave it a fairly gentle spin around part of the circuit. When he returned the car to me later, he was thrilled to bits with it!

Even the BBC photographers were really impressed with the condition of the car and they were all intrigued to learn about it’s history. I spoke to Richard Hammond several times before and after he road tested the car, he was very down to earth and seems a really nice chap!

The upshot of all this is the car will appear as a stand-alone feature in the Top Gear magazine. Piers did not know when, but said it would definitely be within the next six months.

A very interesting and enjoyable morning. Many thanks again!

It sounds that Adrian had a great day and we look forward to seeing the article soon!
