CPUK North-East Weekend - Northumberland and Co Durham
Based on Slaley Hall Hotel, Hexham, Northumberland NE47 0BX
Friday 14th August 2026 – Sunday 16th August 2026
You will be staying at the well-appointed Slaley Hall Hotel, in the beautiful Northumberland countryside.
Checking in on Friday, you can choose to head to the spa facilities, pool or golf course or just sit back and relax in the 1000 acres on offer.
On Saturday morning, we will take a short drive from Slaley to the famous Beamish Living Museum of the North in Co Durham (voted Best Attraction in the UK in 2025!). Set across 350 acres, we’ll have all day to explore its many attractions which tell the story of life during the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s and 1950s. With working historic trams and buses accessing key areas, there’s so much to explore from the station, tramway, colliery, farm and villages. It’s the perfect venue for everyone!
On Sunday, plans are still to be finalised but, just a hint, Tanfield, the world’s oldest working railway (established 1725) is also close by.
Accommodation at Slaley is £191 per night DB&B for single occupancy, £228 per night DB&B for double occupancy.
Admission to Beamish is a much-reduced £19 per adult, £16.50 per senior or £8 per child assuming we get sufficient interest. Sunday activities are yet to be priced.
Please let Alison know as soon as possible if you will be joining us.
