Reims Autojumble

Quite Simply The best Autojumble for French Car enthusiasts that you can attend! Forget finding that elusive part for your Classic Peugeot at a UK Autojumble Reims is the place to go!
After last year`s success I had at finding parts at Reims I decided that in 2016 I was going to make a weekend of it and decided to travel on Friday and come home on Monday. I could not believe the journey down to Dover from Liverpool as I never stopped once after leaving my house until I reached the roundabout at the bottom of the A20 in Dover. Unfortunately I did not arrive at Reims until the early evening so I missed the opportunity of going in on the Friday (through some sort of “early bird” payment?) I then met up with fellow CPUK members, Mick Huntley, Guy Bromley and Asher Kedem to discuss strategy for Saturday. When I arrived on Saturday at the autojumble the queue was not too bad and we got in relatively easily however the crowds very quickly grew into a mass of people which made the whole thing rather uncomfortable. There were that many people there that you could not stop and look at anything. The buildings had limited facilities which were overrun and this went on until I left at 6.30pm when it closed for the day. I bought nothing! Over dinner at the hotel I told my colleagues that I was that disappointed that I was considering going home. They persuaded me to stay and go back on the Sunday which to be fair was the sensible option which I agreed with on one condition, I was not going to turn up at 8.30 am like on the Saturday! When we arrived at 9.15 on Sunday the difference from the day before could not have been more different. No queues, no massive crowds, it was easy to stop and look and therefore buy what I was looking for. I had a long list and I managed to find quite a few things on it which was never going to happen on Saturday! I also managed to see quite a few friends that had attended our IPM in 2014 which made the weekend even better. Overall then a dismal start turned into a great finish which made the whole trip more than worthwhile. Reims is not just an autojumble, it’s a 1500 vehicle Classic Car Show, it`s a meeting place and it`s a great City to visit! If you haven`t been yet make the time and go!
