2015 Opening Lunch - Leamington

Dating back to the 17th century, The Red Lion ,next to a 14th century bridge crossing the River Leam, is a proper country pub with stone and wooden floors, decent old furniture, open fires and a friendly, chatty atmosphere They are putting on a special menu for us and with prices from £8 for one course up to £17.50 for the most expensive 3 course options, there is something to appeal to everyone. Numbers and food choices are needed in advance so please let Alison know by Sunday 8th March if you plan to join us.
Summer sunshine greeted us as 26 members and guests arrived for the Opening Lunch near Warwick in March. Although the air temperature wasn’t quite high enough to persuade the cabriolet drivers to put their roofs down, it certainly made the riverside location more picturesque. Despite a few problems caused by the pub unexpectedly changing hands the week before our meal, there was plenty of opportunity to swap stories of winter-time projects and get fresh inspiration as well as catching up with friends. Alastair had brought a sample of the soon-to-be-available Peugeotist binder and many orders were taken there and then. These will be on sale on the website and at events shortly and will make a smart addition to your bookshelves. With the cars ranging from 203 to 208XY, there was plenty to view in the car park and by mid-afternoon when the Peugeots were leaving, I think we felt that 2015 is going to be another great year for our get-togethers.
