Rare 308CC GT100 - Pre-launch in stunning Black - 029 of 100

Not to be confused with the herd of regular Peugeot 308 CC GT’s out there, we have here a lovely example of the unique Peugeot GT100, number 29 of a limited edition of 100, which Peugeot released pre-launch in 2009, La vie en noir et blanc (50 in nera black – as here – and 50 in pearl white), to whet the appetite of an expectant UK market.

Undoubtedly a future classic!

To quote Carsuk.net:

“Peugeot are pretty much responsible for the whole Coupe-Cabriolet (CC) market. They practically invented the concept, and have gone on to sell pushing on 700,000 CCs in total across the 307 and 207 ranges. But now it’s time for a replacement, and the Peugeot 308 CC launches in the UK on 1st June. (2009)

As an incentive to get buyers up and running quickly, Peugeot offered a very highly specced 308 CC – the GT100 Limited Edition – to the first 100 buyers in the UK, who not only got a lot more kit but also get their new cars ahead of the official launch. But, with a couple of weeks to go to the first regular cars hitting UK showrooms, Peugeot has announced that the 308 CC GT1 LE has sold out. Which is good news for them, but not so great for those hoping to get the extra kit.”

In this case the phrase “very highly specced” is fully deserved, boasting:

 Full high quality leather interior with heated electric memory seats and air scarf system
 Ice cold air conditioning
 F&R parking sensors
 Cruise control and limiter
 18” Alloy wheels
 High spec audio system with JBL speakers and aux inputs
 Remote central locking
 Parking sensors F&R
 Auto folding wing mirrors
 THP 150 engine
 GT100 personalisation with unique numbering (in this case 029/100)
 Chrome and stainless-steel highlights tastefully applied inside and out

To see how well this has all been done just look at the pictures. This is no regular 308CC!

As Autocar put it:

“The unusually proportioned styling won’t be to everyone’s taste, but it certainly commands attention on the road. The interior, on the other hand, is fantastic. With a stylish sloping centre console, gadgets galore and fit and finish that would make more premium manufacturers blush, it’s a superb place to spend time in.”

It doesn’t stop there though, the 1.6 litre THP engine “gives the car a more spritely character. It revs freely with a satisfying mid-range punch and you can even make out a rasping exhaust note with the roof down” ….. “this car excels as a long-distance cruiser, thanks to its supple ride, four useable seats and large 465-litre boot.”
