News has come through that 2017 will be the last year that vehicles claiming VED exemption have to have been built before the 1st Jauary of the year 40 years previously. From 2018, VED exemption will start to be applied for any vehicle REGISTERED in 1978 regardless of when the vehicle was manufactured.This is quite a significant change and will mean that there will not be the necessity to go to the trouble and expense of proving that your vehicle was built the year before it was registered to get the VED exemption.
