On Sunday the 29th May I made my way from Liverpool to the Prescott Hill Climb to join up with other CPUK members at La Vie en Bleu 2011.Alison Budd had organised a special parking area for CPUK and as the morning progressed our members started arriving in an eclectic mix of cars. They ranged from my 207SW ( I had to bring the CPUK gazebo!) to a recently aquired (ex Don Carter) beautiful 202. it was great to see a couple of 604s in the same place and also a 203 with 505 running gear! All told we had 15 cars in attendance which was very encouraging.
During the lunch break there was a chance to enter the cavalcade of cars that were allowed to go up the hill in convoy which CPUK members did with great gusto!
Of course the day is also a motor sport event , dedicated to French cars and there were many weird and wonderful vehicles attacking the hill, some of them I would not even sit on let alone throw around the bends of Prescott!
Prescott is the home of The Bugatti trust so you can imagine how many of that marque were there, including no less than three Veyrons!
All in all a very good day in a carnival atmosphere and yes the rain even kept away!La Vie en Bleu is a very worthwile addition to our events calendar.
