Pugfest '05 - A full report of the event

Pugfest is the annual gathering of the PSOOC (Peugeot Sports Official Owners Club). The "official" comes from the fact that PSOOC were born from the factory organised 205 GTi Owners Club. With such a background it is no surprise that the now venerable 205 GTi still features large in the membership. The club has however expanded the range of cars catered for to all sporting Peugeots. Like CPUK, PSOOC also enjoys official factory support so it was a natural fit to invite CPUK to attend the annual bash held at Prescott Hillclimb.

The world of older Peugeots was represented by myself, Mat Tuck and Stuart Bird, meaning that we had two 504's and a 104 at the event.

The centre piece of Pugfest is access to the famous Prescott Hillclimb course, and at £4 a pop most members had booked several runs. As a member of both PSOOC and CPUK I was able to offer our two attendees several runs up the hill. Stuart Bird in particular relished the opportunity to compare his standard 104ZS with the highly modified editorial ZS.

The Prescott Hill site was packed to the rafters with Peugeots of all sorts from concours 205's to rally cars. Highlights were the two 205 T-16's, one a road car and one a full Group B Evo spec car, which made short work of the hill and sounded fantastic. Great to see a piece of Peugeot history still in use.

205's, 309's, 206's 106 rallyes and even a 405 GLD Estate made it up the hill, with the little ZS provoking great interest as well as keeping up with the best of the 205's speed wise. Again a little piece of Peugeot history still in action.

The weather for the day was faultless, with clear blue skies adding to the festive party atmosphere. CPUK will be invited back again next year, lets hope we can muster a few more cars as this event is highly entertianing and very friendly.
