
World Cup Rally 2012
On New Years Day, CPUK member David Spurling will take his 504 (pictured above) to join 43 other crews at the Brooklands Motor Museum for pre-rally safety checks and briefings. At 4 pm they will be flagged away to drive to the Official London Start where they line up in the House of Lords car-park, Parliament Square. As Big Ben strikes 7 pm they begin the long journey to Cape Town.
After a night navigation section through Kent the crews catch the 3:40am Dover to Calais ferry on the longest non-stop section of the marathon, next stop is Beaune. Their route takes in 3 Continents and 14 countries, covering 14,000 kilometres. See www.londoncapetownrally.com for full details
David's 504 is part of a team of 3 cars known as Adventure Peugeot, the other two being a Swiss 504 and a French 505. Their daily position will be displayed on their own website www.londoncapetown504.com
Besides the Aventure Peugeot team, there are 2 other French entered 504s and a UK entered 504 taking part in the rally.
